2011 WMD Symposium

Start:
May 4, 2011
End:
May 5, 2011

WMD Futures: A look at Tomorrow’s Challenges
Hosted by the National Defense University

SYMPOSIUM SYNOPSIS: This year’s symposium will examine how current assumptions and approaches regarding WMD threat and response may be challenged by recent experience, changes in the security environment, and the spread or advance of technology. We will take a fresh look at international nonproliferation and threat reduction efforts, the role of WMD in geopolitics, how WMD may be used on a future battlefield, and the evolving response to major challenges such as “loose nukes.” Leading policymakers, practitioners, and experts will share their views on these issues and the implications for policies and plans to meet future WMD challenges.

SYMPOSIUM FEE: The early registration fee of $150 is payable at the time of registration. All payments must be made online through this website. Starting 20 April 2011, the regular fee of $175 will be charged. Registration may be cancelled without penalty on or before 19 April 2011. After that date, registration fees will not be refunded. We regret that no fee reduction can be made if unable to attend all conference events. If you have any payment questions, please contact Creighton Hottinger, hottingerc@ndu.edu, 202-685-3127.
