Dispelling myths regarding food and mouth disease

(Ahram Online) Over the past two weeks, an outbreak of foot and mouth disease (FMD) among livestock occurred in 25 governorates across Egypt, causing many animal deaths, especially among young animals, spurring fears that all livestock could eliminated completely.

10228 foot-and-mouth cases detected

(The Egyptian Gazette) CAIRO – The Minister of Agriculture confirmed 10228 cases of foot-and-mouth disease in five governorates, with 704 calves having died. Minister Mohamed Reda Ismail said that the calves had died in the governorates of Gharbiya, Alexandria, Daqahliya, Qaliubiya, Suez and Cairo.
